Queer Liverpool Round-Up // June 2019
Looking for the most exciting non-scene happenings this month? We got you.
It seems like nobody has told the weather, but June is here dear queers. And while here in Liverpool we have to wait until July for our big bash, June is traditionally known as Pride Month. So get OUT there and sparkle this month at all of these LGBTQ+ friendly events.
The 28 June marks the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall uprising so while you’re out and about feeling proud this month, don’t forget that the first Pride wasn’t a party, it was a riot!
What’s queer and here in June
Confirming Liverpool as one of the greatest cities in the world for art and queer culture, the excitement is building around Tate Liverpool’s Keith Haring exhibition which opens this month. Launch night on 13 June is set to be BIG and the Sonic Yootha boys are hosting the afterparty. We’re proud to partner with the Tate for this month’s Queer Hub. But sorry huns, Hub is already fully booked; keep your eyes alert for cancellations.
Staying on the arts theme, those beauts at The Gallery (Stanhope St) are treating us to another superb queer exhibition; Fearless Creatures is a photography exhibition exploring the twilight world of avant-garde clubland and launches on 7 June.
Look out for regular LGBTQ+ socials: Beers for Queers on 6 June, Sonic Yootha on 29 June and our own Queer Fridays on 14 June. Stay cosy with us until 11pm or go big and head on to EAT ME + Preach!.
Have fun!
