2 PARTS:

1. SET BOOK: This time it is "THE PAYING GUEST" (SARAH WATERS), a riveting tale of simmering passions with a shabby genteel mother and daughter, who have to take in lodgers, symbolising:

2.THEME: "END OF AN ERA"(generally; and, specifically, just after WW 1/the start of the modern(ist) era).

As a bonus, if you feel like reading Hardy's "The Woodlanders", we shall,more briefly, discuss that.

SO, no worries if you haven't read all/any of the set book; because you can bring YOUR OWN FICTION CHOICE on the theme, and talk about it in this section of the meet:)

We choose books in turn (if you attend twice, you get to choose a book and theme)

We have read Gothic, Dystopia, literary fiction, sci-fi and much else!

No phones/devices to be on unless you expecting an urgent call; kindles are fine:)
