Trans Liverpool presents
For our second get together in 2019, we want to do something a bit exciting!
We're going bouldering! If you're not sure what that is, it's indoor rock climbing, without the awkward grossness of a harness! The walls are less high, so that there's no need to be roped up, there are crash mats. The hangar has climbing routes for all levels including absolute beginners! And we'll start the session with an induction with one of the hangar's climbing instructors!
Don't be nervous! There's more info at this link!
It's £8 each, that includes the hire of climbing shoes, and if you're coming along there's a wee form that you can fill in online to save time on the day! The induction starts at 1pm sharp, so the meeting time is set for 12:30 to make sure we're all ready to go! If anyone wants to meet at Sandhills train station to walk round together, send us a message!
We'll post reminders about these things in the run up to our afternoon at the hangar!
As always, we will be trying to create a space that's as safe as possible for us to meet and get to know each other. In this case, obviously there will be other climbers around, but we'll have an instructor to ourselves for the induction!
So following some queries we've received here at Liverpool Trans, we just wanted to make it clear that you are welcome to wear whatever you want or need to to feel safe and comfortable. Whether that means that you are not "out" yet, or for any other reason. The same will apply to name and pronoun use.
You'll be invited to join in a pronoun-around, where we each tell the group our Name and Pronoun. You can use whatever makes you feel comfortable and safe.
I hope that all makes sense! Any questions, shoot us a message!
