Telling Tales: Let’s get physical

We are looking for speakers for our LGBTQ+ storytelling event Telling Tales.

You are invited to submit stories for our conversational storytelling event, where local people will share their experiences of getting physical from an LGBTQ+ perspective.

LGBTQ+ experience of sport and physical activity can be very different to that of straight people. Love it or hate it queer people are often marginalised by the narrow gender boundaries presented by sport and the changing room culture, which can present feelings of awkwardness, fear and excitement.

The pandemic and a loss of real life activity has maybe also changed our perceptions and needs for physical interaction in ways which we would have never imagined.

We want to hear from you.

This conversational storytelling; no previous experience is necessary and nothing is read verbatim. Stories can range from 5 – 10 minutes.

Our hope is that by sharing our stories we can show solidarity and help each other to learn from our experiences.

The event will take place at the Fabric District , Liverpool, on 25 July from 7 until 9pm.

To submit a story, please send us your synopsis of no more than 250 words by 30 June 2021.

No experience necessary, please don’t hesitate to message us if you would like any more information.
