Stars That Never Dim

by Mechelle Kelly

There is not a star in the sky.
They have separated from themselves,
disassembled.
They have decided
the sky tastes better a different way.
They dabble,
discover,
glow from the inside.
They dance from within.
They’ve brought love in waves
that splash away the darkness
into the brightest
dawn of day.

These stars,
they are us.
We are like fireflies
in the night
that transform by day
into original,
human
works of light.

Michelle says: This poem is about letting go of the lone wolf syndrome and opening up to the amazing people in our lives. Realising that other's perfectionism doesn't have to be ours.

I personally love quirky, original and awesomely nice people. This bravery to be ourselves is leadership for those who are breaking free from other's expectations.
